On December 8th 1941, following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the mighty forces of the Empire of Japan invaded the islands and mainland of Southeast Asia. Sovereign Thailand was one of them. Without any prospect of winning, the Thai military government made a decision to surrender and sign an alliance pact with Japan. The event sparked a series of anti-Japanese organizations to emerge both within and outside the country, all with the common goal to regain national independence.
